I'll tumbl for you...

Fashionista?

So for Chicago this past summer, I did my own hair, and wanted to try a 20’s style bob with fingerwaves. So, I did as any internet junkie would do, and googled the crap out of it. I ran across an awesome tutorial on this blog:

I’ve gone back and read most of the posts to the blog, which made me realize two things: 1. Does this girl not look like an almost spitting image of Kate? and 2. I really wish I were more fashionable. I mean, I have some cute clothes, and think that a majority of the time I dress myself well, but I wish I had unique and stylish pieces in my closet. It was frustrating in school because my time was spent in workshop classes were movement clothes were required, in actual rehearsals, and working at Subway.

I do feel a little cliche jumping on the vintage bandwagon, but between finding www.pinupgirlclothing.com, the popularity of everything from Mad Men to Boardwalk Empire to pin-ups to Water for Elephants, the early 20th century is everywhere. And I love it all! (Okay, except for the 20’s fashion. Hair YES but dropped waists? No thanks :-P)

Now I know that the secret to finding what I’m looking for is thrifting, but we all know that thems clothes be runnin small. So this is even more motivation to keep working out and making smart eating choices.

And her hair! The tutorials are awesome, and with some practice I think I’d be able to do a lot of the styles. I’m really liking having my hair short like this, so I might as well do cool things with it. If only my hair was platinum… hmm that could be fun! :-P

So, to recap: I need to keep on the losing weight train, and need to stop falling back on jeans and casusal-cute tops from day to day.
